Last spring, Big Sky Search and Rescue broke ground on their new building! BSSAR currently runs meetings and trainings at the local fire station and stores rescue vehicles and equipment on one volunteer's property.

The town of Big Sky and the surrounding area is expanding, therefore creating the need for BSSAR to dynamically adapt and expand along with the growing population. Having outgrown our current operating situation, we have generously been allocated a plot of land for a building in order to incorporate meetings, trainings, equipment storage, and pre-and-post mission duties all in one area.

The building plan is a simple "warehouse" style with a few side rooms for meeting spaces and storage. Unfortunately, expenses have run higher than the budget, leaving no funds to finish the interior of the building. As BSSAR is purely a volunteer organization, we are searching for donations to finish the project. The sooner we can finish the building, the sooner we can stop operating in limbo with equipment and storage facilities scattered throughout the Big Sky community.
